What should I do when Merchant Center shows a 0% or 100% AI report?

An AI performance tab or vendor claim brings you here. Capture one category with its filters and caveats before changing products or buying analytics.

· Updated September 4, 2026

When this applies
Merchant Center shows an AI performance tab, a 0% or 100% share-of-voice value, or a vendor offers to replace a report your account does not have. [1] [2]
When this does not apply
Do not buy a workaround or change product data because the AI performance tab is absent. Google controls availability and lists the report for English-language queries in five named countries. [1] [2]
Why this matters
This is a first-party view of organic AI product visibility. It can replace weaker third-party estimates for eligible accounts, while its category and data-volume limits prevent it from proving total reach. [1]
What to do, or not do
Open the Merchant Center Analytics tab, select Products, and look for the AI performance tab. If it loads, review each product category separately and keep the report's low-data caveats beside any conclusion. [1] [2]
What you'll see when it's done
You obtain a dated, category-specific record of visible terms, attributes, and share of voice, or a confirmed no-action result because the tab is not present in your account. [1]
What this result does not prove
The record covers Google organic AI traffic for one category and cannot prove all-channel reach, store-wide demand, revenue, or complete absence or coverage at 0% or 100%. [1]

When a third party is worth paying for, and what you do not have to buy

When paid help is worth it
Paid help is worth it only when you need category-level analysis Merchant Center does not produce, and the provider states the same low-data limits the report carries. [1]
What you do not have to buy
Google publishes AI performance insights inside the Merchant Center Analytics tab, so seeing this number is not a report to buy. [1] [2]

You may have arrived because Merchant Center displayed a 0% or 100% value, or because someone offered a visibility product after your account did not show Google’s report. Do not change products or buy a replacement until the person with Merchant Center access records the report’s scope and caveats.

Google publishes AI performance insights inside Merchant Center. The report covers organic product visibility for shopping queries in AI Mode and AI Overviews, and compares a merchant’s share of voice with a set of competitors Google defines. It does not create an all-channel or all-category score.

Ask for a complete report record

Ask the store’s Merchant Center administrator to open Analytics > Products > AI performance and record:

  1. The date they read the report, the product category, time period, country, and traffic filter.
  2. The visible product terms, structured attributes, search intents, and share of voice.
  3. Whether Google shows a 0% low-impression value, a dash for no impression data, or a 100% no-competitor value.

If the AI performance tab is absent, the current result is no action. Google controls availability, and another Shopify app cannot turn on a Merchant Center feature.

Check whether your account has the report

Google states that AI performance insights are available for English-language queries for Merchant Center accounts in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, and the United States. Google announced the report on May 27, 2026 and named those same five countries as the rollout.

A merchant in one of those countries opens the Analytics tab and looks rather than waits. If the tab does not appear, the answer stays no action. There is no separate Shopify app or feed to install for the report.

If the report appears in your account, select one product category before interpreting the metrics. Google states there is no report that encompasses all categories.

Read the edge values with their caveats

The report includes your share of voice, your competitors’ average share, query frequency, and how many of your products are showing. Data is limited to organic AI traffic, and Google excludes paid Ads traffic from it. Google also classifies conversational queries into three shopping stages: discovery, evaluation, and ready to buy.

Three values need context:

  • A 0% share means the account did not have enough impressions for Google to calculate a share.
  • A dash means there is no impression data at all.
  • A 100% share means the account has no defined competitors available in Merchant Center. Google states the competitor set cannot be changed.

None of the three proves complete absence or complete market coverage.

Keep the decision category-specific

Use the report to find categories and queries worth inspecting. Then verify the product attributes and eligibility for that category in Merchant Center. Do not combine unrelated category percentages into a store-wide score.

The observable result is a dated record for one category and filter set, or confirmation that the tab is not present in the account. That record cannot prove all-channel reach, store-wide demand, revenue, or complete absence or coverage at an edge value.
