Someone offers to install WebMCP on your Shopify storefront

Do I need to install WebMCP on my Shopify storefront?

This applies when:
A vendor offers to install WebMCP, or a developer asks whether an August 2026 announcement creates storefront work.
Nothing to do right now:
Do not buy or install WebMCP for a Shopify Liquid storefront; Shopify exposes it automatically. Hydrogen needs developer work only when you deliberately test the preview.
What to do:
Do nothing for a standard Liquid storefront. Hydrogen merchants should treat the feature as a developer preview and wait for the documented production path.

Your shopping-agent vendor has an August 31 cart deadline

Does the August 31 cart deadline affect my store?

This applies when:
A developer or vendor says your custom shopping agent needs cart migration work before August 31, 2026, or a cart test loses line items after an update.
Nothing to do right now:
Take no migration action when no custom agent integration calls Storefront MCP get_cart or update_cart; standard Shopify storefront behavior is outside this deprecation.
What to do:
Ask the integration owner whether the app calls get_cart or update_cart at the Storefront MCP endpoint. If it does, require migration and verification before August 31, 2026.

What changed Sell through AI Check this

A 0% or 100% AI report appears in Merchant Center. Now what?

What should I do when Merchant Center shows a 0% or 100% AI report?

This applies when:
Merchant Center shows an AI performance tab, a 0% or 100% share-of-voice value, or a vendor offers to replace a report your account does not have.
Nothing to do right now:
Do not buy a workaround or change product data when the AI performance tab is absent; the pilot is available only to selected United States Merchant Center accounts.
What to do:
Open Merchant Center analytics and check whether AI performance insights is available. If it is, review each product category separately and keep the report's low-data caveats beside any conclusion.
