## When this applies

You receive an AI visibility dashboard pitch, or a Catalog query preview, recommendation, order, or channel status in Shopify Admin needs a decision. [1][2]

## When this does not apply

Do not buy a separate AI-visibility dashboard before checking Sales channels > Agentic; if the page or relevant channel is unavailable for the store, record that boundary instead of treating missing data as poor performance. [1][2]

## Why this matters

A second dashboard can duplicate Shopify reporting. A snapshot alone cannot explain why a result changed. [1][3][4]

## What to do

In Sales channels > Agentic, record raw Catalog results, recommendations, and reported orders, sales, and conversions separately before buying another dashboard. [1][2][3]

## When you’re done

You obtain a dated record of directional Catalog discoverability and first-party reported commerce outcomes, plus a list of questions the Shopify page does not answer. [1][3]

## What this cannot prove

The Catalog preview does not show store rank in a participating AI channel, and the page does not prove why a result moved or that one product-data change caused a conversion. [1][4][7]

## Paid help and free options

- When paid help makes sense: Paid help is worth it only when you can name a decision the Shopify Admin numbers cannot support, and the dashboard states where its own data comes from. [1][4]
- What’s already free: Shopify Admin already reports agentic orders, sales, and conversions and runs a free product-page audit, so a visibility dashboard is not required to see this. [1][3][4]

**Check Sales channels > Agentic before buying an AI visibility dashboard.** Record what Shopify already shows, then name the question another tool must answer.

The [May 11, 2026 changelog](https://shopify.dev/changelog/a-new-home-for-agentic-storefronts-in-your-admin) introduced query previews and product-data recommendations. [Spring '26](https://www.shopify.com/news/spring-26-edition-merchant) added first-party orders, sales, and conversions across named channels.

## Record five things

Ask the person with Admin access to record:

1. Observation date and selected channel.
2. Active or eligible status shown.
3. Query and raw Catalog preview results.
4. Product-data recommendations.
5. Shopify-reported orders, sales, and conversions, with their period.

If the page is missing, check permissions and ask Shopify Support about store availability. A dashboard cannot enable this page or replace inaccessible evidence.

## Keep each result's meaning clear

The preview shows Catalog output. [Shopify's channel help](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-sales-channels/agentic-storefronts/agentic-home) says channels can reorder it; it does not show rank in their answers. Reported orders and sales are actual first-party outcomes for the selected channel and period.

Record eligibility per channel, without a store score. Shopify's [free product-page check](https://www.shopify.com/agentic-readiness) identifies signals to inspect, with no guarantee an agent will surface the product.

Finish with a dated record and unanswered questions. It cannot explain why a result changed, predict reach or sales, or prove an edit caused a conversion. Pay for another tool only if it addresses a remaining decision and discloses its evidence and method; repeating Shopify's fields adds no missing answer.

## Common questions

### What did Shopify add to the admin for AI channels in 2026?

Two releases. A changelog entry on May 11, 2026 introduced an Agentic Storefronts page with a raw Shopify Catalog query preview and product-data recommendations. The preview is directional because participating channels can rerank Catalog results. The Spring '26 edition on June 17, 2026 made first-party reporting for orders, sales, and conversions across ChatGPT, Copilot, AI Mode in Google Search, the Gemini app, and Shop public. [1][3][7]

### Does Shopify offer a free AI readiness check?

Yes. Shopify publishes a free agentic commerce audit that scans a product page URL for the structured data AI agents read. Its own disclaimer states that these are informational signals and do not guarantee products will be surfaced by AI agents. [4]

### Is being enrolled in an AI channel the same as being reachable on it?

No. Enrollment and reachability are separate facts. Shopify turns agentic storefronts on by default only for eligible stores, and the buying path differs by channel. ChatGPT sends buyers to your own checkout. Google AI Mode and Gemini are still rolling out, and their direct checkout needs a US-based store selling to US buyers. Shopify's April 2, 2026 post says Perplexity checkout runs through PayPal Instant Buy, so those orders are managed in PayPal, outside Shopify Admin. [2][6][5]
