> Review answers and fix their source settings with Shopify’s free app. Better answers do not mean more AI exposure.

## When this applies

You sell through AI channels or are considering paid help to write store FAQs for AI shopping agents. [1]

## When this does not apply

A custom agent that does not use Shopify's policy and FAQ tool needs its own answer-source review. [5]

## Why this matters

Generated facts draw on language, customer account, shipping and delivery settings, and return rules. An incorrect source can become an incorrect answer. [2]

## What to do

Review generated FAQs, fix source settings, and override remaining errors. We recommend adding new answers only for Unanswered questions. Use one or two sentences in the primary language; one FAQ cannot hold multiple languages. [2][3]

## When you’re done

Review each generated FAQ and record an answer or reason for each Unanswered question. This is our recommended stopping point. [2][3]

## What this cannot prove

Shopify says the app improves answer accuracy without changing how often your store appears in AI results. An empty query log does not establish answer quality; customer-query data appears after products enter AI shopping conversations. [1][3]

## Paid help and free options

- When paid help makes sense: For this task, we recommend paying only to establish missing business facts that nobody on your side has documented. The free editor covers entering answers from facts you already hold. [4][2]
- What’s already free: Shopify makes Knowledge Base available for free. It previews generated FAQs, lets you override or add answers, and provides Answered and Unanswered query filters. [4][1][3]

**Use Shopify's free Knowledge Base app to check store FAQs before paying for writing help.** Start with the shipping, return, or service fact that needs correction.

## Check facts before wording

The [free app](https://apps.shopify.com/shopify-knowledge-base) supplies answers agents can read through the [policy and FAQ tool](https://shopify.dev/docs/agents/catalog/policy-and-faqs-tool). Compare generated answers with your real terms, such as whether sale items can be returned.

Follow [Shopify's FAQ instructions](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/knowledge-base/managing-faqs): fix incorrect source settings first, then override answers that still need correction. Use one or two sentences in the store's primary language; a single FAQ cannot contain multiple language versions.

## Add answers for observed gaps

The [query log](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/knowledge-base/understanding-faq-metrics) separates Answered and Unanswered. We recommend using Unanswered as the writing list. Shopify also permits adding FAQs directly; waiting for a logged question is our recommendation.

If there are none, finish after reviewing generated FAQs. If a policy is undecided, record why the question stays unanswered. Confirm a warranty before promising one.

Finish with reviewed FAQs and an answer or reason for each Unanswered question. [Shopify says Knowledge Base](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/promoting-marketing/knowledge-base) improves accuracy without changing how often the store appears in AI results. An empty log proves no answer quality; reviewed text proves no agent use or exposure.
